Black Myth: Wukong left me in awe and exasperation in equal measure. Yet, for all its brilliance, it’s a game that sometimes struggles to keep up with its aspirations. On one hand, it's an action RPG like few others, offering a uniquely challenging experience that is as rewarding as it is punishing. On the other hand, my time with it was plagued by technical issues—frequent crashes, glitches that yanked me out of the moment, and frustrating audio bugs that left me disconnected from key story beats. The narrative, drawn from the legendary Journey to the West, is richly layered but often assumes a level of familiarity that can leave newcomers feeling lost
Forgiving, but still difficult
Black Myth: Wukong offers a challenging experience that stands apart from the usual souls-like formula, focusing on keeping players immersed in the action rather than punishing them with tedious mechanics. This approach makes the game feel more accessible, yet it doesn’t compromise on difficulty.
